Aviation safety can be enhanced by a climate of cooperation and honesty where aviation professionals will come forward and admit bad judgment and mistakes made, thus enabling us to find out what really happened and prevent a reoccurrence. A culture in which aviation professionals are blamed and held accountable for their inadvertent errors discourages the front-line operators from reporting any kind of mistake, with a consequent reduction in safety information and hence, aviation safety. Critically discuss these two statements and comment on whether you think that a just culture is the way forward.
